USD 200,000 will provide a three year basic income for all of the 156 Ebola survivors registered by the Sierra Leone Association of Ebola Survivors in Kenema.
Ismatu Gwendolyn (they/them) is an activist known for their commitment to the rights and welfare of marginalized groups, actively promoting social change. They focus on advocating for policy changes to address critical issues such as gender inequality, access to education, and healthcare. Ismatu returned to Sierra Leone to study the long-term effects of the Ebola epidemic on interpersonal, communal, and national levels.

This program provides regular income that helps survivors cover medical needs and rebuild what the epidemic took — restoring not just stability, but dignity and a place in their communities.
